Contrast agents and renal cell apoptosis

open access: yes, 2008
Contrast media (CM) induce a direct toxic effect on renal tubular cells. This toxic effect may have a role in the pathophysiology of contrast nephropathy.

Quantification of renal blood flow with contrast-enhanced ultrasound

open access: yes, 2001
OBJECTIVESThe goal of this study was to determine the ability of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEU) to quantify renal tissue perfusion.BACKGROUNDThe kinetics of tracers used to assess renal perfusion are often complicated by countercurrent exchange ...

Magnetic Micro‐ and Nanorobots for Precision Thrombolysis: Design Strategies and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Micro‐ and nanorobots for targeted thrombolysis. This perspective elaborates on the clinical indication of blood clot disorders and current limitations for treatment. As a novel, alternative solution, micro‐ and nanorobots can be used to treat and break down thrombi.

High Humidity Exacerbates Psoriasiform Skin Disease Relapse by Increasing Tissue‐Resident Memory T Cells via Altering Skin Microbiota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrated that high humidity worsened psoriasis relapse in murine psoriasiform skin inflammation by increasing skin‐resident memory CD8+ cells via upregulating IL‐15Rα on keratinocytes. The increases in IL‐15Rα and memory CD8+ cells were attributed to S. nepalensis and its metabolite ADMA in skin exposed to high humidity.

RENAL BLOOD MEASUREMENT BY DOPPLER FLOW TECHNIQUE [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
We have mainly employed the ultrasonic Doppler technique serially after renal transplantation and renovascular operation as a hemodynamic monitoring. The equipment employed was directional Doppler flowmetry, Model EUD 2 and 4 types (Hitachi Medico Co ...

Involvement of endothelium-derived relaxing factor in the pressure control of renin secretion from isolated perfused kidney

open access: yes, 1993
Using isolated rat kidneys perfused at controlled pressure, we examined a potential role of endothelium-derived relaxing factor (EDRF) in the pressure control of renin secretion.

Gut Microbiota Regulates Systemic Inflammatory Response and Compensatory Anti‐Inflammatory Response Syndromes by Targeting PF4+ Macrophages in Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute pancreatitis (AP) begins with pancreatic local inflammation, leading to the onset of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), followed by compensatory anti‐inflammatory response syndrome (CARS), which causes immune paralysis and higher mortality rate.
