ARC - Augmented Renal Clearance

Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, 2011
In-hospital and intensive care unit mortality rates for sepsis remain un-acceptably high, and have prompted the publication of international guidelines on best practice. Crucial to this is the application of early appropriate antibacterial therapy, in the correct dose.

The renal clearance of citrate in man

Metabolism, 1964
Because of the paucity of data in man concerning the renal clearance of citrate, citrate and creatinine chromogen clearances were simultaneously determined in 10 normal subjects and in 8 patients with proved hyperparathyroidism prior to and after surgical correction.

The renal clearance of phenylpyruvate

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1961
Abstract In patients with oligophrenia phenylpyruvica (OP), the overall clearance ratio of phenylpyruvate/creatinine is somewhat lower than i.o. Yet the renal excretion of phenylpyruvate (PP) appears to be mainly the result of a tubular secretion, probably localized in the proximal tubule of the nephron.

Renal Clearance of Theophylline in Man

The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1976
The renal clearance of theophylline was determined in 12 experiments with six healthy human adult volunteers and was found to decrease from 8.50+/-2.20 to 276.+/-1.13 ml/min/m2 during 8 hours after oral administration of a single dose of theophylline, 200 mg/m2.

Inulin clearance and renal lymph

Experientia, 1964

THE RENAL CLEARANCE OF PLASMA CORTISOL

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1959
ABSTRACT Renal clearance of plasma cortisol was studied by measuring total and ultrafiltrable plasma cortisol simultaneously with glomerular filtration rate and urinary cortisol excretion. The findings were consistent with the interpretation that at normal plasma levels, 80–90 per cent of the filtered cortisol is reabsorbed by the renal tubules.

Prednisolone Clearance In Renal Transplantation

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1980
Although prednisolone is the most common immunosuppressive agent used in renal transplantation, an accurate formulation of the optimal dose regimen remains to be established. A sensitive and precise radioimmunoassay was developed for this purpose.

Age and renal clearance of cimetidine

Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1982
In 35 patients (ages 20 to 86 yr) receiving cimetidine therapeutically two serum samples and all urine formed in the interim were collected for analysis of cimetidine by high-pressure liquid chromatography and for creatinine. Cimetidine clearance decreased with age.

Renal clearance of imipenem in children

European Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1984
Imipenem renal clearance was studied in six children (three males, three females; 2.9-11.2 years of age) following a single intravenous dose (21.7 +/- 5.1 mg/kg) of imipenem/cilastatin (1:1). In an approximately six-hour period following drug administration, 65.3 +/- 9.7% of the imipenem dose was excreted in the urine unchanged.
