Renal clearance of sulphinpyrazone in man

European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1986
Six healthy young volunteers received a single dose of sulphinpyrazone 200 mg p.o. Plasma concentration and urinary excretion rate curves showed large intersubject variation for sulphinpyrazone and its metabolites. The sulphide metabolite could only be detected in plasma and not before 3-7 h after ingestion. The total recovery in urine of all compounds

Determinants of the renal clearance of digoxin

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1975
The renal clearances of digoxin, creatinine, and urea nitrogen were determined simultaneously in each of 41 patients receiving digoxin, in most of whom there was prerenal azotemia. Mean ± SD values were: blood urea nitrogen (RUN), 26.1 ± 12.8 mg per 100 ml; creatinine, 1.1 + 0041 mg per 100 ml; creatinine clearance, 78 ± 42 ml/min/1.73 m2; digoxin ...

Maturation and renal digoxin clearance

Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1981
To evaluate the effect of maturation on the renal disposition of digoxin, the ratio of digoxin clearance to creatinine clearance was determined in 35 patients who were 3 days to 79 yr old. All were at steady-state levels for digoxin treatment. A mean ratio of 1.49 +/- 0.67 (SD) was obtained in the group of prepubertal children and infants greater than ...

RENAL CLEARANCE IN PATIENTS WITH MYXEDEMA

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1955
DESPITE the considerable interest that exists in the cardiovascular abnormalities associated with myxedema, little can be found in the literature regarding renal function in this disorder. Corcoran and Page reported renal function studies on 2 patients suffering from myxedema, which demonstrated a reduction in renal blood flow, glomerular filtration ...

Clinical measurement of renal clearance

Current Opinion in Nephrology and Hypertension, 1992
The importance of renal clearance in uronephrology has motivated the continuous reassessment of well-established methods and the relentless search for better techniques. Concerning radionuclide methods, data in the current literature confirm the validity of the simplified one-compartment model or the empirical single-sample method for renal clearance ...

Renal Clearance Studies

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1968
Clearance studies are widely used to assess glomerular filtration rate and renal blood flow and to study the excretion of various substances by the kidney. The renal clearance of a substance represents the virtual or theoretical volume of plasma which is completely cleared of this substance in a given unit of time.

Renal iodide clearance in rabbits

Acta Endocrinologica, 1989
Abstract. The purpose of the study was to compare indirect clearance methods based on plasma values and external detection of activity using small skin attached radioactivity detectors with a direct clearance method based on constant infusion and urine collection. The experiments were performed in anesthetized rabbits.

Renal clearance of ifosfamide.

Drug metabolism and disposition: the biological fate of chemicals, 1997
Nephrotoxicity is an important clinical side effect of the chemotherapeutic agent ifosfamide. This medication is activated by the hepatic cytochrome P450 system with potentially toxic metabolites produced through both ring hydroxylation and chloroethyl side chain oxidation pathways.
