Safety and Efficacy of Retrograde Intrarenal Renal Surgery in Treatment of Renal Pelvic Stones less than 2 cm [PDF]

open access: yesMinia Journal of Medical Research
Background: Retrograde intra renal surgery (RIRS) is included among the first line treatments for kidney stones between 1 and 2 cm but could be proposed as a viable alternative therapy to percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) for stones larger than 2 cm in

Bio‐Memristor Based on Clinical Bile Samples: A Proof‐of‐Concept Pilot Study for Detection of Gallbladder Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, we present a bile‐based memristor hardware framework that enables direct, label‐free identification of cholelithiasis and gallbladder cancer at the device level. The Ag/bile/FTO memristor features stable resistive switching and disease‐specific electrical responses, providing a conceptual foundation for circuits and an integrated ERCP ...

Oral Recombinant Human Collagen III Protects Gastric Mucosa via G‐Quadruplex‐Mediated Activation of the Pla2g4a‐Prostaglandin Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Orally administered recombinant human type III collagen protects the gastric mucosa from ethanol‐induced injury by coordinating redox homeostasis, epithelial barrier repair, and arachidonic acid–prostaglandin metabolism. Gastric digestion releases the pentapeptide GPAEF, which interacts with the Pla2g4a promoter G‐quadruplex in a structure‐dependent ...

Management of 1-2 cm renal stones

open access: yes, 2013
Introduction: The preferred treatment of 2 cm is percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), but treatment of 1-2 cm renal stones is a controversial issue. We searched the literature to present a comprehensive review on this group. Material and Methods: Pubmed

PBRM1 Deficiency in Microglia Leads to Excessive Neurogenesis and Autism‐Like Behaviors via the CCL5‐CCR1/5‐β‐catenin Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microglial PBRM1 deficiency drives excessive hippocampal neurogenesis by enhancing CCL5–CCR1/5 signaling, leading to autism‐like behaviors. A pro‐inflammatory IL1α+/TNFα+ microglial subset is identified as a key cellular contributor to this process. PBRM1 represses Ccl5 expression at the transcriptional level.

Study on Renal stones: A review [PDF]

open access: yes
Renal stones represent one of the most prevalent urological conditions, arising from the abnormal accumulation of crystalline materials within the kidney, ultimately leading to renal impairment and urinary tract obstruction.

NCLX Inhibition plus Ca2+ Delivery Potentiates Electroporation and Antitumor Immunity in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electroporation combined with NCLX inhibition and Ca2+ delivery induces mitochondrial Ca2+ overload in PDAC cells, triggering pyroptosis, DAMP release, and antitumor immune activation. Simultaneously, suppression of tumor‐derived SPP1 weakens SPP1–CD44 signaling and remodels macrophages toward an antitumor phenotype, thereby enhancing CD8+ T‐cell ...

Hospital-Based Prevalence, Characteristics and Management Patterns of Complex Renal Stones at a Tertiary Referral Centre in Upper Egypt.

open access: yesMinia Journal of Medical Research
Background Urinary stones constitute a major global health burden, affecting approximately 5%–10% of the world's population, with 15%–20% of those affected requiring invasive intervention.[1] Complex renal stones — encompassing staghorn calculi, multiple

[Metaphylaxis of recurrent renal calcium stones]

open access: yes, 2007
Calcium containing renal stones represent a common medical problem and show a high rate of recurrence. Therefore, besides the treatment of acute stone episodes, also the prevention of new stone episodes is of crucial importance in the medical care of ...
