Nucleoside‐Modified mRNA Encoding Alpha‐Galactosidase A Ameliorates Fabry Disease Phenotypes in Human IPSC‐Derived Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human iPSC‐derived Fabry cardiomyocytes exhibited broad transcriptional dysregulation, apoptosis, mitochondrial dysfunction, impaired reactive oxygen species handling, altered contractility, and abnormal calcium transient decay, potentially mediated by phospholamban hyperphosphorylation.

Self‐Amplified Activatable Fluorescent Probe for Early Diagnosis of Acute Kidney Injury and High‐Throughput Screening of Natural Protectants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The PS‐QRC nanoprobe employs L‐serine as a targeting ligand for kidney injury molecule‐1 (KIM‐1) to achieve accumulation in injured renal tissues. Upon activation by reactive oxygen species (ROS), it undergoes a self‐amplifying cascade to release fluorophores for near‐infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging, enabling ultra‐early diagnosis of acute kidney ...

SPARC Drives Podocyte Mitochondrial Damage and Ferroptosis in Diabetic Kidney Disease Following Klotho Deficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Klotho deficiency promotes podocyte mitochondrial dysfunction and ferroptosis through activation of the PKCα/CUX1/SPARC/TGFβ‐RII axis. SPARC emerges as a key mediator linking Klotho loss to podocyte injury in DKD and other kidney injury models, suggesting broader implications for CKD progression.

Gut Microbiota‐Isoallolithocholic Acid Crosstalk Promotes Calcium Oxalate Kidney Stone Formation via PARP1‐Mediated Parthanatos

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bile acids have been implicated in calcium oxalate (CaOx) nephrolithiasis. Here, we employ multi‐omics approaches to identify isoallolithocholic acid (isoalloLCA) as the key bile acid elevated in the feces, serum, kidney, and urine of CaOx rats, confirmed by spatial metabolomics.

Chronologically different incidences of post-transplant malignancies in renal transplant recipients: single center experience

open access: yes, 2009
The incidence of malignancy in transplant recipients is known to be higher than the same in the general population. However, the types of malignancies vary geographically, and the relative risks (RR) for malignancy in transplant recipients, compared with

Nano Proton Scavengers Modulate Endosomal pH to Inhibit Microglial Activation and Enhance Stroke Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic sulfonated chitosan nanoparticles buffer endo/lysosomal acidity in microglia by limiting V‐ATPase membrane recruitment and restoring endosomal homeostasis. Following systemic administration, they accumulate in the ischemic hemisphere partly through association with infiltrating immune cells, suppress TLR3/IRF3 and TLR4/NF‐κB signaling ...

Intrasplenic Thymus Organogenesis from Injectable Tissue Fragments Restores Functional T‐Cell Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Clinical intramuscular thymus transplantation yields only short‐lived efficacy and marginal therapeutic benefits. Benefiting from the spleen's intrinsic strengths—rapid vascular perfusion, abundant developmental factors, and resident progenitors—the intrasplenic thymic grafts achieve robust thymic regeneration and substantial T‐cell reconstitution ...

Should Intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guerin Be Employed in Transplant Recipients with Bladder Carcinoma?

open access: yes, 2011
Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) exerts its antitumor activity through induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines, while immunosuppressive agents prevent organ rejection by suppressing pro-inflammatory and promoting anti -inflammatory responses.
