Scalar kinetic mixing and the renormalization group

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
Quantum field theories containing scalar fields with equal quantum numbers allow for a mixed kinetic term in the Lagrangian. It has been argued that this mixing must be taken into consideration when performing renormalization group (RG) analyses of such ...

Regularization, renormalization, and renormalization groups

open access: yes, 2011
This paper confronts renormalization used in quantum field theory and that used in critical phenomena studies in statistical mechanics or dynamical systems theory. Regularization that cures spurious divergences is distinguished from renormalization transformations allowing to compute actual physical divergences.

Shear‐Induced Nematic Alignment in Polysulfone Melts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 24, June 19, 2025.
Shear‐induced alignment is investigated by means of rheology and birefringence on an amorphous linear polysulfone melt. The absence of crystallization makes PSU particularly enabling to investigate temperature effects on the shear‐alignment of linear polymers, unveiling the role of chain relaxation times and possible enthalpic contributions.

Giant Modulation of Interlayer Coupling in Twisted Bilayer ReS2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 23, June 20, 2025.
Twist angle in stacked bilayer ReS2 can modulate 30% of interlayer coupling and the whole range of exciton energy between 1L and 2L ReS2. Abstract Stacking monolayers of two‐dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides with different twist angles can provide a way to tune their quantum optical and electronic characteristics.

Asymptotic estimates of large gaps between directions in certain planar quasicrystals

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract For quasicrystals of cut‐and‐project type in Rd$\mathbb {R}^d$, it was proved by Marklof and Strömbergsson [Int. Math. Res. Not. IMRN (2015), no. 15, 6588–6617; erratum, ibid. 2020] that the limit local statistical properties of the directions to the points in the set are described by certain SLd(R)$\operatorname{SL}_d(\mathbb {R})$‐invariant ...

Relativistic low-momentum interactions from renormalization group

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The relativistic Vlowk is developed from a renormalization group method for the first time, to provide softened NN interactions for relativistic abinitio calculations. Starting from a given bare NN interaction, the renormalization group method eliminates
