Distinct Physiological Mechanisms Drive Grey Matter Plasticity in Complex Versus Simple Sequence Learning

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 8, June 1, 2026.
Ultra‐high field imaging provides evidence that complex MSL induces GM increases that are driven by synaptogenesis for initial encoding and myelogenesis for later learning, consolidation in left SPC. However, habituating to a simple repeated task leads to GM decreases in these regions, likely due to attenuated blood flow.

Synthesis of Core–Shell Te@Se Quantum Dots and Their Broadband Photodetector Performance in Low Concentration Electrolytes

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 12, 18 June 2026.
Te@Se core–shell heterojunction quantum dots (QDs) are synthesized by a two‐step strategy via combining liquid‐phase exfoliation and epitaxial growth. As active materials in photoelectrochemical photodetectors, Te@Se QDs exhibit excellent photo‐response performance in low‐concentration electrolytes and deionized water.

Excitonic Theory of the Ultrafast Optical Response of 2D‐Quantum‐Confined Semiconductors at Elevated Densities

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
In this work, an excitonic many‐body theory for the ultrafast optical response at elevated excitation densities for Wannier–Mott excitons is developed and applied to two distinct materials (GaAs quantum well and MoSe2 monolayer) as proponents of two different Coulomb‐interaction regimes.

On‐Surface Synthesis of B3N3‐Substituted Two‐Dimensional Covalent Organic Frameworks with Distinct Pore Sizes and Kagome Band Structures

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 32, 8 June 2026.
Single‐layer, 2D BN‐substituted covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with two distinct periodicities are synthesized on noble metal supports. A multi‐method characterization reveals a non‐planar, chiral structure. Band gaps and frontier band dispersion are controlled by linker chemistry and spacer extension.
