Histopathology of cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus (Reoviridae) infection in corn earworm, Helicoverpa zea (Boddie), larvae (Insecta: Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

open access: closedCanadian Journal of Zoology, 1991
Histopathology of cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus (CPV) infection in the larval midgut of the corn earworm, Helicoverpa (=Heliothis) zea (Boddie) is described. Small polyhedral inclusion bodies (PIB) are observed in columnar cells of the midgut 1 or 2 days after treatment with CPV.

Maize rough dwarf virus (Reoviridae) in its planthopper vector Laodelphax striatellus in relation to vector infectivity

Annals of Applied Biology, 1986
SUMMARYThe infectivity of females of the planthopper vector Laodelphax striatellus given access to maize rough dwarf virus (MRDV) infected plants was assessed for up to 55 days from the end of the access period. A 3‐day inoculation access period was used, and this avoided intermittent transmission. Maximum infectivity was reached c.

Revealing shared differential co-expression profiles in rice infected by virus from reoviridae and sequiviridae group

Gene, 2019
Differential co-expression is a cutting-edge approach to analyze gene expression data and identify both shared and divergent expression patterns. The availability of high-throughput gene expression datasets and efficient computational approaches have unfolded the opportunity to a systems level understanding of functional genomics of different stresses ...

Colorado Tick Fever and Other Arthropod Borne Reoviridae

, 2017
Among arthropod-borne viral infections, Colorado tick fever is second in incidence in North America only to West Nile fever (1). As with other viruses, evidence of infection by arthropod-borne reoviruses, including many newly identified viruses, as the ...

Antiviral Medicinal Plants of Veterinary Importance: A Literature Review

Planta Medica, 2020
Viruses have a high mutation rate, and, thus, there is a continual emergence of new antiviral-resistant strains. Therefore, it becomes imperative to explore and develop new antiviral compounds continually.

The Ornithodoros (Alectorobius) capensis group (Acarina: Ixodoidea: Argasidae) of the palearctic and oriental regions. O. (A.) coniceps identity, bird and mammal hosts, virus infections, and distribution in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Journal of Parasitology, 1979
Ornithodoros (Alectorobius) coniceps (Canestrini 1890), which was briefly described from adult specimens from St. Mark's Cathedral, Venice, Italy, has been a confusing taxon. We redescribe and illustrate the adult and immature stages from St.

Colorado Tick Fever and Related Coltivirus Infections

, 2005
Accounts of “mountain fever” first appeared in the mid-19th century among Rocky Mountain settlers. Although this term likely included several infectious diseases, a relatively mild form of fever was endemic in the area, associated with headache ...
