We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

On Order Restricted Inference in Multi‐Step Stage Life Testing for a General Family of Distributions
ABSTRACT Recently, k$$ k $$‐step stage life testing (SLT) has been proposed by Laumen and Cramer (2021) as a natural extension of progressive censoring with fixed censoring times (PC‐FCT) as well as of simple step‐stress accelerated life testing (SSALT).

Bayesian estimation of generalized long-memory stochastic volatility [PDF]
We propose a Bayesian approach to estimating the parameters of a Generalized Long-Memory Stochastic Volatility (GLMSV) model, a versatile framework designed to address both persistent (long-memory) and seasonal (cyclic) behaviors across various ...

ABSTRACT Prior pharmacokinetic (PK) analysis revealed that increased alpha‐1‐acid glycoprotein (AAG) levels are associated with decreased imatinib unbound fraction in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) patients. This study aimed to investigate the PK of total and unbound concentrations of imatinib and the metabolite N‐desmethyl imatinib in ...

Development and Validation of a Next‐Generation Mechanistic Model of the Electric Arc Furnace
This study presents a next‐generation mechanistic model of the electric arc furnace (EAF). It describes equations for all crucial processes appearing during the steel‐recycling process in an EAF, i.e., thermal, mass, and chemical. The model was parameterized and validated using industrial EAF data.

Optimal representation of time-dependent spherical geometries
Applications in fields such as fluid mechanics, video games and image processing frequently involve the simulation of 3D objects with spherical topology, with a surface quantity that varies with the geometry and/or according to some surface partial ...

Antimicrobial Use in Livestock: The Economic Cost of Action or Inaction
ABSTRACT This paper quantifies the economy‐wide consequences of two independent global stress‐tests in livestock production. The first assesses the effects of phasing out antimicrobial growth promoters (AGPs), and the second evaluates the long‐term impacts of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) progression.

Twisted times, the Schwarzian and its deformations in DSSYK
The IR dynamics of SYK is that of the Schwarzian theory, the effective theory of broken reparametrization invariance. In the double scaling limit, SYK is completely solvable by chord diagrams, whose generating functional is a bilocal Liouville theory. At

Reparametrization Invariant Statistical Inference and Gravity [PDF]
Bialek, Callan and Strong have recently given a solution of the problem of determining a continuous probability distribution from a finite set of experimental measurements by formulating it as a one-dimensional quantum field theory. This letter gives a reparametrization-invariant solution of the problem, obtained by coupling to gravity.
