Replacement policies for a complex system with unobservable components using dynamic Bayesian networks [PDF]
We study maintenance of a complex dynamic system consisting of ageing and unobservable components under a predetermined threshold reliability level. Our aim is to construct an optimum replacement policy for the components of the system by minimizing ...

LR-LRU: A PACS-Oriented Intelligent Cache Replacement Policy
An intelligent cache replacement policy suitable for picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) was proposed in this work. By combining the logistic regression (LR) algorithm with the classic least recently used (LRU) cache replacement policy, we

Hardware-Based Implementation of Algorithms for Data Replacement in Cache Memory of Processor Cores
Replacement policies have an important role in the functioning of the cache memory of processor cores. The implementation of a successful policy allows us to increase the performance of the processor core and the computer system as a whole.

Optimal replacement policy and approximate replacement rules
An iterative procedure for calculating the optimal replacement age of capital equipment under certain assumptions about future costs is presented and shown to be a practicable method of determining replacement policy. This procedure is compared empirically with three approximate replacement rules, the Terborgh rule and two payoff period rules.
