Evaluation Methods and Replicability of Software Architecture Research Objects

International Conference on Software Architecture, 2022
Context: Software architecture (SA) as research area experienced an increase in empirical research, as identified by Galster and Weyns in 2016 [1]. Empirical research builds a sound foundation for the validity and comparability of the research. A current

Replication without replicators

Synthese, 2009
According to a once influential view of selection, it consists of repeated cycles of replication and interaction. It has been argued that this view is wrong: replication is not necessary for evolution by natural selection. I analyze the nine most influential arguments for this claim and defend the replication–interaction conception of selection against

Complementary replication

Mathematical Biosciences, 1991
Differential equations for the kinetics of complementary replicating macromolecules in a flow reactor are derived. It is shown that such a model has many features in common with the differential equation for direct replication, the replicator equation. Two special cases of replication, and the influence of mutation on them, have been studied in detail.

Chromatin replication

BioEssays, 1992
AbstractJust as the faithful replication of DNA is an essential process for the cell, chromatin structures of active and inactive genes have to be copied accurately. Under certain circumstances, however, the activity pattern has to be changed in specific ways.

Replicating Tessellations

SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, 1993
Summary: A theory of replicating tessellation of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) is developed that simultaneously generalizes radix representation of integers and hexagonal addressing in computer science. The tiling aggregates tesselate Euclidean space so that the \((m + 1)\)st aggregate is, in turn, tiled by translates of the \(m\)th aggregate, for each \(m\) in ...

What Meta-Analyses Reveal About the Replicability of Psychological Research

Psychological bulletin, 2018
Can recent failures to replicate psychological research be explained by typical magnitudes of statistical power, bias or heterogeneity? A large survey of 12,065 estimated effect sizes from 200 meta-analyses and nearly 8,000 papers is used to assess these

Virus Replication

2003
The effort to understand the molecular biology of rotaviruses (RVs) has led to the development of procedures that can be used to study the replication and transcription of the RV genome, the assembly and structure of the rotavirion, and the structure and function of RV proteins.
