Cellular OCIAD2 protein is a proviral factor for hepatitis C virus replication

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2021
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) nonstructural protein NS4B is necessary for HCV replication. Our previous research found that NS4B-associated cellular proteins PREB and Surfeit 4 are involved in HCV replication. However, the molecular mechanism of HCV replication is not fully understood.

Hepatitis C Replication Inhibitors That Target the Viral NS4B Protein

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2013
We describe the preclinical development and in vivo efficacy of a novel chemical series that inhibits hepatitis C virus replication via direct interaction with the viral nonstructural protein 4B (NS4B). Significant potency improvements were realized through isosteric modifications to our initial lead 1a.

Hepatitis C virus replication and antibody responses toward specific hepatitis C virus proteins

Hepatology, 1994
We assessed the correlation between hepatitis C virus replication and antibody responses toward hepatitis C virus core (C22-3), NS3 (C33C), NS4 (5-1-1 and C100-3) and NS5 proteins in 59 virus carriers. The concentration of serum hepatitis C virus RNA was determined by a competitive reverse transcription-polymerase chain ...

Tailam paramyxovirus C protein inhibits viral replication

Journal of Virology
ABSTRACT Jeilongviruses are emerging single-stranded negative-sense RNA viruses in the Paramyxoviridae family. Tailam paramyxovirus (TlmPV) is a Jeilongvirus that was identified in 2011. Very little is known about the mechanisms that regulate viral replication in these newly emerging viruses. Among the non-

Hepatitis C virus replication and antibodies to structural and nonstructural viral proteins in chronic hepatitis C

Journal of Hepatology, 1994
The correlation between hepatitis C virus replication and antibodies to both structural (core) and nonstructural (C100-3) hepatitis C virus proteins (anti-HCVcore and anti-C100-3, respectively) was assessed. The concentration of serum hepatitis C virus RNA was determined by a competitive reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction assay, and ...

Protein kinases C as potential host targets for the inhibition of chikungunya virus replication

Antiviral Research, 2017
We have shown previously that prostratin, a non-tumor promoting phorbol ester, inhibits chikungunya virus (CHIKV)-induced cytopathic effects in vitro. Prostratin is a potent activator of protein kinases C (PKC), a family of related serine/threonine kinases that regulate many cellular processes such as proliferation and apoptosis.

SUMOylation of nonstructural 5A protein regulates hepatitis C virus replication

Journal of Viral Hepatitis, 2014
SummaryViruses exploit cellular SUMOylation machinery to favour their own propagation. We show that NS5A is a target protein of small ubiquitin‐like modifier (SUMO) and is SUMOylated at lysine residue 348. We demonstrated that SUMOylation increased protein stability of NS5A by inhibiting ubiquitylation, and SUMOylation was also required for protein ...

DNA Damage by the Enediyne C-1027 Results in the Inhibition of DNA Replication by Loss of Replication Protein A Function and Activation of DNA-Dependent Protein Kinase

Biochemistry, 2001
Treatment of cells with the enediyne C-1027 is highly efficient at inducing single- and double-strand DNA breaks. This agent is highly cytotoxic when used at picomolar levels over a period of days. For this study, C-1027 has been used at higher levels for a much shorter time period to look at early cellular responses to DNA strand breaks. Extracts from
