SURVIVAL AND EXTINCTION IN THE REPLICATOR MODEL: DYNAMICS AND STATISTICS [PDF]
We study the multi-species replicator model with linear fitness and random fitness matrices of various classes. By means of numerical resolution of the replicator equations, we determine the survival probability of a species in terms of its average interaction with the rest of the system.

Dynamic Replication Scheduling for Cloud Datacenters Based on Workload Statistics
2019 IEEE Intl Conf on Dependable, Autonomic and Secure Computing, Intl Conf on Pervasive Intelligence and Computing, Intl Conf on Cloud and Big Data Computing, Intl Conf on Cyber Science and Technology Congress (DASC/PiCom/CBDCom/CyberSciTech), 2019Cloud providers often achieve high service reliability and availability by using replication technologies. Typical replication mechanisms usually adopt fixed schedules for replicators by transferring data to their replicas at a specified time.

Trigger warnings and resilience in college students: A preregistered replication and extension.
Journal of experimental psychology. Applied, 2020Trigger warnings notify people that content they are about to engage with may result in adverse emotional consequences. An experiment by Bellet, Jones, and McNally (2018) indicated that trigger warnings increased the extent to which trauma-naïve crowd ...

Is psychology suffering from a replication crisis? What does "failure to replicate" really mean?
American Psychologist, 2015Psychology has recently been viewed as facing a replication crisis because efforts to replicate past study findings frequently do not show the same result.

Replication, statistical consistency, and publication bias [PDF]
Abstract Scientific methods of investigation offer systematic ways to gather information about the world; and in the field of psychology application of such methods should lead to a better understanding of human behavior. Instead, recent reports in psychological science have used apparently scientific methods to report strong evidence for ...

More Than One Replication Study Is Needed for Unambiguous Tests of Replication
Journal of educational and behavioral statistics, 2019The problem of assessing whether experimental results can be replicated is becoming increasingly important in many areas of science. It is often assumed that assessing replication is straightforward: All one needs to do is repeat the study and see ...

Statistical Assessment of Biomarker Replicability using MAJAR Method
Statistical Methods in Medical Research, 2022AbstractIn the era of precision medicine, many biomarkers have been discovered to be associated with drug efficacy and safety responses, which can be used for patient stratification and drug response prediction. Due to small sample size and limited power of randomized clinical studies, meta-analysis is usually conducted to aggregate all available ...

A Useful Statistical Technique for Replication Studies
Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, 1977Eastman's (1975) recent expression in the JRME of concern over so few replication studies is a concern that should be shared by all who have an interest in research. Replication is critical in assessing the "significance" of research results. A correlation coefficient of .20, which is statistically significant at the .01 level, will be much more ...

Replicated measurements and algebraic statistics
2009A basic application of algebraic statistics to design and analysis of experiments considers a design as a zero-dimensional variety and identifies it with the ideal of the variety. Then, a subset of a standard basis of the design ideal is used as support for identifiable regression models. Estimation of the model parameter is performed by standard least
