Interfacial Coordination‐Engineered Emulgel Modulates the Osteo‐Immune Microenvironment in Periodontitis Treatment Via HIF1 Signaling Pathway‐Induced Metabolic Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of HIPPE‐QU‐mediated periodontal regeneration. a) Fabrication process and microstructure of HIPPE‐QU. b) Antimicrobial and immunomodulatory HIPPE‐QU hydrogel for periodontal regeneration. HIPPE‐QU hydrogel co‐delivers HA‐Cu, GNPs, and QU, providing antimicrobial effects and reprogramming the immune microenvironment to promote ...

Targeted Enrichment of Engineered Bacteria on Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Turns Immunologically Cold Tumors Hot

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, an “all‐in‐one” engineered anaerobic bacterial system (PDAEcN/COS) is developed for the treatment of immunologically “cold” TNBC. This nanoplatform is capable of colonizing tumor cell surfaces and implementing “self‐blocking” of immune checkpoints, while simultaneously suppressing tumor cells' “don't eat me” signals and delivering “eat ...

Manifested U‐Waves Prior to Seizure Attacks in a Patient Who Had Remote Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Case Report

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology
Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) refers to unpredictable demise of a person following a seizure. Electroencephalograms can directly measure electrical activity in the brain; however, it cannot predict when seizures will occur.

Ventricular Action Potential Adaptation to Regular Exercise: Role of β-adrenergic and K\u3csub\u3eATP\u3c/sub\u3e Channel Function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Regular exercise training is known to affect the action potential duration (APD) and improve heart function, but involvement of β-adrenergic receptor (β-AR) subtypes and/or the ATP-sensitive K+ (KATP) channel is unknown.

SLC6A14 Drives Mitochondrial Fusion and Oxidative Phosphorylation to Promote Cancer Stemness and Early‐Onset of Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Elevated levels of the plasticizer DEHP associate with earlier breast cancer diagnosis. DEHP enhances glutamine‐powered energy production via the transporter SLC6A14 and pushes mitochondria toward fusion, driving tumor initiation by boosting cancer stemness. Blocking SLC6A14 lowers stemness, slows tumors, and improves chemotherapy response.

Fractional diffusion models of cardiac electrical propagation: role of structural heterogeneity in dispersion of repolarization

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Society Interface, 2014
Impulse propagation in biological tissues is known to be modulated by structural heterogeneity. In cardiac muscle, improved understanding on how this heterogeneity influences electrical spread is key to advancing our interpretation of dispersion of ...

Spatially Resolved Mapping of Voltage‐Gated Proton Channel Activity Reveals Delayed Proton Transport in Local Microenvironments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A revolutionary imaging platform integrating quantitative single‐molecule photobleaching with ratiometric fluorescence probes enables high‐throughput (≈2300 individually resolvable channels) mapping of individual proton channels in a large field (≈3000 µm2), overcoming the spatial and temporal limitations of conventional electrophysiology.
