Semigroup methods in the representation theory of the infinite symmetric group

open access: yes, 2021

Template‐Confined Synthesis of Shape‐Engineered Single‐Crystal Gold Microplates in Lithographically‐Defined Polymeric Patterns

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐crystal gold microplates are high‐performance nanomaterials with an impressive wafer‐based application space. Progress has, however, been tempered by an inability to exert synthetic control over microplate size, shape, and positioning. In this work, control over these parameters is demonstrated using a seed‐mediated synthesis that both confines ...

Unraveling MXene Oxidation Mechanisms Under Realistic Gas Environments by In Situ Gas‐Cell TEM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Real‐time visualization of MXene degradation reveals a fundamental oxidation mechanism under oxygen and moisture environments. Using in situ gas‐cell electron microscopy, this study demonstrates that oxygen degradation drives a thermodynamically controlled high‐temperature transformation into mixed rutile/anatase phases.

Representation theory of the infinite symmetric group and Pfaffian point processes

open access: yes, 2012
We construct a family of Pfaffian point processes relevant for the harmonic analysis on the infinite symmetric group. The correlation functions of these processes are representable as Pfaffians with matrix valued kernels. We give explicit formulae for the matrix valued kernels in terms of the classical Whittaker functions.

Generalized CPR-graphs and applications

open access: yes, 2010
We give conditions for oriented labeled graphs that must be satisfied in order that such are permutations representations for groups of automorphisms of chiral or orientably regular polytopes.

Dynamic Interfacial Chemistry of Choline Chloride as Electrolyte Additive for Stable Zn‐Iodine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Choline chloride (ChCl) additive enables dynamic interface engineering in Zn‐I2 batteries by forming hydrophobic polyiodide complexes and a Zn‐stabilizing Ch+‐rich layer under electric field modulation. This dual‐function strategy suppresses iodine hydrolysis and dendrite formation, while optimizing Zn2+ solvation and transport for high‐efficiency ...

The toda equations and congruence in flag manifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This thesis is concerned with the 2-dimensional Toda equations and their geometric interpretation in form of r-adapted maps into flag manifolds, r-adapted maps are not only of interest due to their relation with the Toda equations, but also for their ...

Electro‐Steric Ion Confinement in Polyelectrolyte Networks for Robust Nonvolatile Artificial Synapse

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polyelectrolyte stoichiometry governs ion transport and retention in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. A PSS‐rich network creates electro‐steric ion confinement that suppresses ion back‐diffusion and stabilizes channel doping, enabling robust nonvolatile synaptic memory, linear weight updates, and low‐energy operation.
