Physical modelling of representative particles of electrodeposited copper powders [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2006
A method for the estimation of the size of the representative particle of a copper powder is given. Cross sections of representative particles of flowing and non-flowing powders estimated by this procedure are also presented.

Experimental Characterization and Population Balance Modelling of the Dense Silica Suspensions Aggregation Process. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Concentrated suspensions of nanoparticles subjected to transport or shear forces are commonly encountered in many processes where particles are likely to undergo processes of aggregation and fragmentation under physico-chemical interactions and ...

Composite nanostructured solid-acid fuel-cell electrodes via electrospray deposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Stable, porous, nanostructured composite electrodes were successfully fabricated via the inexpensive and scalable method of electrospray deposition, in which a dissolved solute is deposited onto a substrate using an electric field to drive droplet ...

Finite-size spherical particles in a square duct flow of an elastoviscoplastic fluid: an experimental study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The present experimental study addresses the flow of a Yield Stress Fluid with some elasticity (Carbopol gel) in a square duct. The behaviour of two fluids with lower and higher yield stress is investigated at multiple Reynolds numbers $Re^* \in$ (1, 200)

Ferromagnetism in nanoscale BiFeO3

open access: yes, 2007
A remarkably high saturation magnetization of ~0.4mu_B/Fe along with room temperature ferromagnetic hysteresis loop has been observed in nanoscale (4-40 nm) multiferroic BiFeO_3 which in bulk form exhibits weak magnetization (~0.02mu_B/Fe) and an ...

Rheology, granule growth and granule strength: Application to the wet granulation of lactose–MCC mixtures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This study aims at better understanding the wet granulation process of a binary mixture composed of microcrystalline cellulose (water insoluble) and lactose (water soluble).

Monodisperse Dry Granular Flows on Inclined Planes : Role of Roughness

open access: yes, 2003
Recent studies have pointed out the importance of the basal friction on the dynamics of granular flows. We present experimental results on the influence of the roughness of the inclined plane on the dynamics of a monodisperse dry granular flow.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
