Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Study on the Reproductive Group Behavior of Schizothorax wangchiachii Based on Acoustic Telemetry
To investigate the group behavioral characteristics of Schizothorax wangchiachii during the spawning period, we used acoustic telemetry to track 10 mature individuals (4 females, 12 males) in a semi-controlled stream section (28.1 m × 5.8 m) simulating ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The community-level effects of women's education on reproductive behaviour in rural Ghana [PDF]
Using survey and census data for rural Ghana collected in the 1980s, this study examines the ability of women’s education to increase interest in fertility regulation and contraception among all women, regardless of their individual and household ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Barriers to Communication Between Parents and Adolescents concerning sexual and reproductive health issues: A case study of Kinondoni municipality, Tanzania [PDF]
Parent-adolescent communication regarding reproductive health issues is more likely to reduce adolescent risk-taking sexual behaviors although some communication takes place on particular reproductive health issues but not others.
