Genetic Influences on Reproductive Performance
Veterinary Clinics of North America: Food Animal Practice, 1992The potential for genetic improvement of reproductive performance in pigs is great. Improvement can be achieved by increased commercial use of F1 hybrid females produced by crossing lines with excellent reproductive performance and by selection within nucleus populations of these lines for improved reproduction as well a for growth and carcass ...

Dairy cow reproductive performance
Veterinary Record, 2015BIJKER and others (2015) make some interesting contributions to existing knowledge on the relationship between subclinical mastitis and reproductive performance (specifically pregnancy rate) in dairy cows. As mentioned in the article, our group has previously published work in this field (Hudson and others 2012), based on a study using data from 105 ...

Reproductive performance in female common hamsters
Zoology, 2008We monitored individual reproductive timing and output in a common hamster population in Vienna over a 3-year period. Animals were live-trapped, weighed, individually marked, and reproductive status was determined at capture. Costs of reproduction were investigated by measuring body condition shortly before hibernation and overwinter survival.
