Human reproduction, as everyone knows, is of the sexual variety. The process begins with the formation of eggs (ova) in the female ovaries and of spermatozoa (sperm) in the male testes. In the act of sexual intercourse, if it occurs at the right time, the two are brought together and the fertilised egg or zygote results.
