Porous Alginate Scaffolds Designed by Calcium Carbonate Leaching Technique
Porous alginate scaffolds (PASs) are fabricated by elimination of CaCO3 microspheres packed in alginate. Design of PASs via control over pore dimensions and interconnectivity is demonstrated. PASs are at first entirely fabricated in buffer solution (pH 7.4) giving opportunity to encapsulate into the individual pores of a scaffold desired macromolecules
