Níveis de lisina em rações para fêmeas suínas em lactação Lysine levels in diets for lactating sows

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2006
Foram utilizadas 65 porcas (Large White x Landrace) com 217,36 ± 21,35 kg para avaliação de diferentes níveis de lisina total (0,950; 1,025; 1,100; 1,175 e 1,250%) na ração para a fase de 21 dias de lactação.

A sensitivity analysis of the prediction of the nitrogen fertilizer requirement of cauliflower crops using the HRI WELL_N computer model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
HRI WELL_N is an easy to use computer model, which has been used by farmers and growers since 1994 to predict crop nitrogen (N) requirements for a wide range of agricultural and horticultural crops.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

DETERMINATION OF OPTIMUM THREONINE REQUIREMENTS OF JAPANESE QUAIL (Coturnix coturnix japonica) CHICKS REARED UNDER TROPICAL ENVIRONMENT

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2017
Threonine, like most amino acids, is traditionally noted for its role in protein synthesis. However, dietary threonine concentration required for the maximum performance of Japanese quails is yet to be determined, therefore, a study was conducted to ...

Fiscal, Monetary, and Reserve Requirement Policy in an Endogenous Growth with Financial Market Imperfections [PDF]

open access: yes
A simple endogenous growth model is developed in a framework where informational imperfections in financial markets give rise to adverse selection as well as costly state verification problems and the government needs to intervene financial markets to ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

A polemic against the standing requirement in constitutional cases

open access: yes, 2013
This article argues that, in constitutional cases, the standing requirement should be flatly abolished. The primary flaw with standing doctrine is that renders large swathes of the Constitution functionally worthless, contrary to the clear intention of ...
