Low‐Power Tunable Micro‐Plasma Device for Efficient and Scalable CO2 Valorization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tunable in‐chip micro‐plasma generation leads to efficient, low‐power and scalable CO2 valorization under atmospheric pressure via vibrational excitation mechanism. Abstract Valorizing CO2 into chemical building blocks via efficient electrified processes could significantly decrease carbon emissions.

Understanding the Interplay Between Thermal Activation, Diffusion, and Phase Segregation of Molecular Dopants Blended with Polymeric Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The use of air stable but thermally labile molecules provides an efficient strategy for the N‐type doping of organic semiconductors with relatively low electron affinities. Design criteria for efficient dopants should also take into account diffusion and phase segregation that cannot be decoupled from thermally activated doping.

Herbivorous Insects and the Hawaiian Silversword Alliance: Coevolution or Cospeciation? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Numerous groups of herbivorous insects in the Hawaiian archipelago have undergone adaptive radiations. R. C. L. Perkins collected and documented species in nearly all of these groups.

Heterogeneity of the Dominant Causes of Performance Loss in End‐of‐Life Cathodes and Their Consequences for Direct Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Direct recyling of Li‐ion battery materials promises a low‐cost path towards a secure domestic supply of critical materials for batteries. Using cathode material from an end‐of‐life commercial Li‐ion cell, this work identifies the primary degradation mechanisms that diminish the performance of directly reused cathode materials and includes a discussion

Highly Active IrRuOx/MnOx Electrocatalysts with Ultralow Anode PGM Demand in Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
MnOx‐supported IrRuOx exhibits outstanding OER performance in both liquid electrolytes and real cell environments. The MnOx not only enhances the dispersion of IrRuOx but also induces a compressive strain effect. The incorporation of Ru leads to surface reconstruction.

LiNO3‐Based Electrolyte with Fast Kinetics for Lithium Metal Batteries Under Practical Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A LiNO3‐based electrolyte enables lithium metal batteries to achieve exceptional cycling stability (430 cycles) and ultrafast kinetics (2.35 mAh cm−2 at 12 mA cm−2) under practical conditions. The electrolyte's unique solvation structure and Li2O‐Li3N‐rich interphase facilitate rapid ion transport, outperforming costly LiFSI‐based systems and paving ...
