The mediating role of job satisfaction related to nurse-nurse collaboration and turnover intention
Background In recent years, nurses’ turnover has become a major problem, especially in underdeveloped and developing countries. This research aims to reveal the mediating role of job satisfaction in the effect of nurse-nurse collaboration on turnover ...

The Effect of Hospital Nurse Staffing on Patient Health Outcomes: Evidence from California's Minimum Staffing Regulation [PDF]
Hospitals are currently under pressure to control the cost of medical care, while at the same time improving patient health outcomes. These twin concerns are at play in an important and contentious decision facing hospitals—choosing appropriate nurse ...

Threonine 348 regulates the subcellular localization of PTEN
Thr348 in the C2 domain is a key contributor to PTEN subcellular localization. The PTEN350 fragment and PTENA4 accumulated in the nucleus, whereas PTENK13R,A4 predominantly localized to the plasma membrane. In contrast, substitution of Thr348 with Asp (T348D) disrupted these characteristic localization patterns, resulting in predominant cytoplasmic ...

The neurokinin 1 receptor exists as full‐length (NK1L) and C‐terminally truncated (NK1S) splice variants. We show that NK1S heterodimerizes with NK1L, impairing Gαq coupling and Ca2+ mobilization while enhancing β‐arrestin1 recruitment. NK1S suppresses substance P‐driven gene expression and cell migration, revealing NK1S as an endogenous biased ...

Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

Functional screening identified PcSyn14890, a cyanobacteria‐specific protein that enhances growth and stress resistance in E. coli and Synechocystis PCC6803. Although we expected it to function as a molecular chaperone, it was unable to protect against thermal aggregation of GAPDH.

Selective elimination of quiescent cancer cells by dequalinium chloride via ROS‐mediated ferroptosis
Dequalinium chloride (DQ) selectively eliminates quiescent cancer cells (QCCs) by amplifying mitochondrial ROS. QCCs exhibit elevated basal ROS and limited redox‐buffering capacity, making them vulnerable to further ROS increases. DQ‐induced ROS exceeds the tolerance threshold, triggering lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis, whereas proliferating cells ...

Characterization of the key membrane protein cytochrome Cyc2 from Ghiorsea bivora
This study reports the first detailed biochemical analysis of Cyc2TAG1_1, a cytochrome protein involved in microbial iron oxidation. We produced and purified this enzyme in E. coli, then measured its iron‐oxidizing efficiency, and characterized its electrical and structural properties.
