Fast Neutron Detector Based on Hybrid 2D Perovskite Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the direct detection of fast neutrons using flexible hybrid 2D perovskite (PEA2PbBr4) thin‐film detectors. Thanks to their high low‐Z elements content and good charge transport, these materials enable efficient neutron detection. The thin film configuration allowed the operation at low voltage, and offer scalability, flexibility, and

Results of Operation and Utilization of the Dalat Nuclear Research Reactor

open access: yesNuclear Science and Technology, 2014
The Dalat Nuclear Research Reactor (DNRR) with the nominal power of 500 kW was reconstructed and upgraded from the USA 250-kW TRIGA Mark-II reactor built in early 1960s. The renovated reactor was put into operation on 20th March 1984. It was designed for

Fully Bio‐Based Epoxy Resins from Liquefied Wood for Chemically Recyclable Wood Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bio‐based and chemically recyclable epoxy resin derived from liquefied wood and its use in wood coatings is presented. The resin exhibits mechanical, thermal, and water‐resistant properties comparable to commercial coatings and can be chemically recycled and reused. This approach provides fast access to glossy and fully biobased durable wood coatings

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Reactor Pulse-Repeatability Studies at the Annular Core Research Reactor

open access: yesJournal of ASTM International, 2012
The Annular Core Research Reactor (ACRR) at Sandia National Laboratories is a water-moderated pool-type reactor designed for testing many types of objects in the pulse and steady-state mode of operations. Personnel at Sandia began working to improve the repeatability of pulse operations for experimenters in the facility.
