The Status of Research

Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering, 1988
Research has been the basic academic prerogative for decades now. It has ensured that course material taught by professors was up‐to‐date, and it has provided a pool of ideas that industry needed to renew its competitiveness. However, the pivotal status of research in universities may now be eroded by innovations such as joint industry‐government ...

The Present Status of Cancer Research

Radiology, 1947
During the past three or four decades a tremendous amount of information has been acquired regarding the carcinogenic process. Up to the present time, search for a single cause of cancer has been fruitless. The great majority of modern cancer investigators will agree that the cause of cancer, unlike that of the communicable diseases, is complex and ...

Status of research on MMPs in India

Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Targets, 2011
MMPs are metal-dependant endopeptidases capable of degrading any one of the components of the extracellular matrix. In normal physiological conditions it is regulated by tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases, and any alteration in this regulatory process leads to pathological conditions. This review discusses the status of MMP research in India.

Present Status of Immunoglobulin Research

Archives of Internal Medicine, 1975
Antibodies have been known as important proteins, and, in recent years, understanding of their composition, synthesis, and genetic control has progressed rapidly. These aspects, as well as developments in the areas of structure, including function correlations, membrane immunoglobulin as recognition units, and antibody as regulator molecule, are ...

Stellarator research - status and trends

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1987
The paper describes the main results of currentless operation in stellarator/heliotron experiments. Various heating methods (ECRH, ICRH and NBI) with a power up to 4MW have been applied in Wendelstein VII-A, Heliotron E, L-2 and Uragan 3. Strong increase of impurity radiation terminates the discharge in NBI-heated plasmas.
