Family resemblances and criteria [PDF]
In §66 ofPhilosophical Investigations Wittgenstein looks for something common to various games and finds only an interconnecting network of resemblances. These are “family resemblances”. Sympathetic as well as unsympathetic readers have interpreted him as claiming that games form a family in virtue of these resemblances.

Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...

Guiding AlphaFold to predict how Munc13‐1 opens Syntaxin‐1
The syntaxin‐1 Habc‐domain (orange), linker (pink) and SNARE motif (yellow) form a closed conformation that binds to Munc18‐1 (violet) and is opened by the Munc13‐1 MUN domain (cyan) to form the SNARE complex that triggers neurotransmitter release.

Elementary patterns of resemblance
This article is part of a series of planned papers (which started with the author's paper ``Ordinal arithmetic and \(\Sigma_1\)-elementarity'' [Arch. Math. Logic 38, No.~7, 449-460 (1999; Zbl 0936.03055)]) with the goal of providing an alternative approach for introducing ordinal notation systems and ultimately reaching the proof-theoretic ordinal of \(

Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

Contemplation on resemblance of molecules
A novel index has been defined in general sense to give an idea about resemblance of two molecules. For that purpose, property vectors defined on n-dimensional Euclidean linear space have been used.

ATZ‐1 promotes DNA replication efficiency to maintain normal meiotic function
Absence of ATZ‐1 interferes with meiotic DNA replication and cell cycle function via CHK‐1. This causes downstream defects associated with DNA damage and genomic integrity. Taken together, this study suggests that ATZ‐1 influences DNA replication efficiency and cell cycle function to maintain normal meiotic function.

Partial Perception and Approximate Understanding [PDF]
What is discussed in the present paper is the assumption concerning a human narrowed sense of perception of external world and, resulting from this, a basically approximate nature of concepts that are to portray it.

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.

The resemblance theory is an attempt to analyse what it is for a number of things to be the same in a certain way. According to this theory, to say of a number of things that they have the same quality - e.g., they are red, or that they are the same kind
