Underground Oxygen Deficiency Alters the Spatial Distribution Pattern of Rooting in Alternanthera philoxeroides

open access: yesPlants
Terrestrial and amphibious plants frequently encounter severe oxygen deficiency in waterlogged environments. While the impacts of nutrient and water availability on root development are well documented, how underground oxygen status drives the spatial ...

Microglial Cells: The Main HIV-1 Reservoir in the Brain

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2019
Despite efficient combination of the antiretroviral therapy (cART), which significantly decreased mortality and morbidity of HIV-1 infection, a definitive HIV cure has not been achieved.

Implantable Ionic Memristors Based on Natural Polymer Heterojunctions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report an implantable natural polymer‐based ionic memristor composed of hyaluronic acid, chitosan, and PDMS. The device achieved 98.94% accuracy in MNIST classification while reducing training time by 36.8% compared with a conventional artificial neural network (ANN).

Optimal Allocation of Reservoir Water [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this paper is to determine the optimal allocation of reservoir water among consumptive and non-consumptive uses. A non-linear mathematical programming model is developed to optimally allocate Lake Tenkiller water among competing uses that ...

Persistent HIV-1 replication maintains the tissue reservoir during therapy

open access: yesNature, 2016
Lymphoid tissue is a key reservoir established by HIV-1 during acute infection. It is a site associated with viral production, storage of viral particles in immune complexes, and viral persistence.

Robust Interlayer Exciton Interplay in a Twisted van der Waals Heterotrilayer on a Broadband Bragg Reflector up to Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we highlight a unique material platform capable of producing three distinct room temperature (RT) photoluminescence (PL) resonances from spatially separated regions composed of a heterobilayer (HBL), a homobilayer (HoBL), and an heterotrilayer (HTL) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) heterostructures configuration on a highly ...

Reservoir-Excess Pressure Parameters Independently Predicts Cardiovascular Events in Individuals With Type 2 Diabetes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The parameters derived from reservoir-excess pressure analysis have prognostic utility in several populations. However, evidence in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) remains scarce.
