A Wireless 3D Magneto‐Mechanical Stimulation Platform Drives In Situ Chondrogenic Commitment of Endogenous MSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intracellular magneto‐mechanical platform utilizing MSC‐targeted nanomotors is developed. After intra‐articular delivery, these nanomotors target endogenous BMSCs and are actuated within lysosomes to execute trans‐planar rotational‐bouncing motions under a rotating‐fluctuating 3D magnetic field, generating amplified mechanical stimulation.

Computational fluid dynamic prediction of the residence time of a vortex separator applied to disinfection

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2005
A Hydrodynamic Vortex Separator (HDVS) has been modelled using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in order to predict the residence time of the fluid at the overflow and underflow outlets. A technique which was developed for use in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) was used to determine the residence time and the results have been ...

Escape probability, mean residence time and geophysical fluid particle dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 1999
Stochastic dynamical systems arise as models for fluid particle motion in geophysical flows with random velocity fields. Escape probability (from a fluid domain) and mean residence time (in a fluid domain) quantify fluid transport between flow regimes of different characteristic motion.
