Residual-Based Implicit Neural Representation for Synthetic Aperture Radar Images
Implicit neural representations (INRs) are a new way to represent all kinds of signals ranging from 1D audio to 3D shape signals, among which 2D images are the most widely explored due to their ubiquitous presence.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Residual stresses and strength of hard chromium coatings
S.133-138Experimental and numerical investigations have been performed on the relationships between coating parameters, residual stresses, micro-cracks and the near surface strength of electrochemically deposited hard chromium coatings.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Newtonian-cultural motion method: a transdisciplinary method for migrant studies
This paper introduces a transdisciplinary methodological approach, the Newtonian-Cultural Motion Method (NCMM), which integrates Newton’s laws of motion with Williams’ cultural theory of dominant, residual, and emergent culture.

Determination of Residual Stress Distributions in Autofrettaged Thick Cylinders [PDF]
High pressure vessels such as gun barrels are autofrettaged in order to increase their operating pressure and fatigue life. Autofrettage causes plastic expansion of the inner section of the cylinder – setting up residual compressive stresses at the ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

An experimental and computational investigation of bone cement residual stresses [PDF]
Hip arthroplasty is a common orthopaedic procedure with considerable success in alleviating hip joint pain and disability. To transfer loads from the prosthesis to the contiguous bone, self-curing polymethyl methacrylate, often referred to as bone cement,
