A New Hybrid Class of Distributions: Model Characteristics and Stress–Strength Reliability Studies

open access: yesAxioms
This study proposes a generalized family of distributions to enhance flexibility in modeling complex engineering and biomedical data. The framework unifies existing models and improves reliability analysis in both engineering and biomedical applications ...

On the dynamic residual measure of inaccuracy based on extropy in order statistics

open access: yesProbability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences
AbstractIn this paper, we introduce a novel way to quantify the remaining inaccuracy of order statistics by utilizing the concept of extropy. We explore various properties and characteristics of this new measure. Additionally, we expand the notion of inaccuracy for ordered random variables to a dynamic version and demonstrate that this dynamic ...

Stochastic comparisons, differential entropy and varentropy for distributions induced by probability density functions [PDF]

open access: yes
Stimulated by the need of describing useful notions related to information measures, we introduce the ‘pdf-related distributions’. These are defined in terms of transformation of absolutely continuous random variables through their own probability ...

On the study of the cumulative residual extropy of mixed used systems and their complexity

open access: yesProbability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences
In this paper, we use an information theoretic approach called cumulative residual extropy (CRJ) to compare mixed used systems. We establish mixture representations for the CRJ of mixed used systems and then explore the measure and comparison results among these systems.

Generalized Gini's mean difference through distortions and copulas, and related minimizing problems

open access: yes, 2023
Given a random variable $X$ and considered a family of its possible distortions, we define two new measures of distance between $X$ and each its distortion.

Measuring inaccuracies in the proportional hazard rate model based on extropy using a length-biased weighted residual approach

open access: yesHacettepe Journal of Mathematics and Statistics
In this paper, we consider the concept of the residual inaccuracy measure and extend it to its weighted version based on extropy. The properties of this measure are studied, and the discrimination principle is applied in the class of proportional hazard rate models.
