The reduction of methane emissions in beef production by selection for residual feed intake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Tämän tutkielman tavoitteena oli selvittää mahdollisuuksia vähentää naudanlihantuotannosta aiheutuvia metaanipäästöjä residuaalisen syönnin jalostusvalinnan avulla.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Feed Efficiency in Growing Steers: Relationships between Efficiency and Carcass Ultrasound Traits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Phenotypic correlations between feed efficiency and carcass traits were examined in growing steers. Two feed efficiency trials were conducted using 233 Santa Gertrudis steers. Steers were individually fed a roughage-based for 77days.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Genome-wide association analysis of key genes for feed efficiency in Qingyuan Partridge chickens

open access: yesPoultry Science
Qingyuan Partridge chickens represent a notable breed of high-quality, slow-growing chickens. The cost of feed constitutes 65-70 % of the total breeding expense for Qingyuan Partridge chickens.

Effect of induction of subacute ruminal acidosis on milk fat profile and rumen parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
High-concentrate diets can lead to subacute ruminal acidosis and are known to result in changes of the ruminal fermentation pattern and mammary secretion of fatty acids.

Estimation of genetic parameter for feed efficiency and resilience traits in three pig breeds

open access: yesAnimal, 2021
Recently, automatic feeders have become popular for collecting daily feed intake data in the pig industry, making it possible to evaluate genetic effects on feed efficiency and resilience traits, expressed as day-to-day fluctuations in feeding records ...
