Interfacial Residual Stress Relaxation in Perovskite Solar Cells with Improved Stability
Advances in Materials, 2019To improve the photovoltaic performance (both efficiency and stability) in hybrid organic–inorganic halide perovskite solar cells, perovskite lattice distortion is investigated with regards to residual stress (and strain) in the polycrystalline thin ...

Journal of the American Society for Naval Engineers, 1937
In the November, 1936, issue of the Journal of the American Society of Naval Engineers, Mr. H. W. Hiemke in his article, “The Repair of Steel Castings,” referred briefly to the temperature‐time relationships which exist when stresses must be released in a welded structure, and mentioned that a study of the matter was being made at the Naval Engineering

Abstract Residual, or locked-in internal, stresses are regions of misfit within a metal part or assembly that can cause distortion and fracture just as can the more obvious applied, or service, stresses. This chapter describes the fundamental facts about residual stresses and discusses the basic mechanisms of residual stress formation ...

Advances in X-ray Analysis, 1966
AbstractResidual stresses were measured in hardened and tempered specimens after unidirectional plastic extension. X-ray and strain gage-layer removal methods were compared. Anomalous residual stresses were found in extended samples at hardnesses of Rc 32–35.

Residual stresses can have important consequences for the manufacture and the resulting properties of polymeric, metallic, and ceramic matrix composite materials and components. Because of the different mechanical, thermal, and shrinkage properties of the fibers and matrices, as well as the anisotropy of the constituent laminate, residual stresses can ...
