Antimicrobial cellulosic hydrogel from olive oil industrial residue

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2018
The cellulose-based antimicrobial hydrogel was prepared from seed and husk cellulosic fibers of olive industry residues by load silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) onto grafted acrylamide monomer (Am) cellulosic fibers. The grafting approach was the free radical mechanism by utilizing ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) as initiator in aqueous medium and N,N ...

Bioplastics production using wood industry residues

2020
Bioplastics have been the focus of worldwide research and development to tackle the lack of biodegradability and dependence on fossil resources of most conventional plastics. In particular, polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) are fully biodegradable polymers that can be produced by microorganisms from low cost substrates, such as wood industry residues.

Industrial Structure, Growth and Residual Flows

1974
The background for economic analyses of environmental pollution is excellently presented in several recent contributions (see, e.g., Kneese et al., 1970; Russell and Spofford, 1972). It suffices here, then, to give but a brief introduction to the concepts used in the study.

Residual Problems and the Scrap Industry

1989
Purchased scrap is generally accepted as a major source of residual and unspecified elements in steel. Current trends in the steel industry will precipitate a more important role for scrap as a raw material. A principal factor in minimizing residual elements is the monitoring and control of this nonhomogeneous, nonmanufactured product by scrap ...

Residue Avoidance in the Veal Industry

American Association of Bovine Practitioners Conference Proceedings, 1985
The right to use drugs in an extra label fashion, concurrent with a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship, has given veterinarians an awesome responsibility. Veterinarian must not take that responsibility lightly. Each individual practitioner must establish his or her own guidelines to determine what circumstances necessitate the Extra Label ...
