Resilient Modulus Variations with Water Content
2003Resilient modulus (MR) variations with water content were carefully examined for three subgrade soils—lean clay, clayey sand, and clayey gravel. For each soil type, four MR tests were performed at the following water contents: 2 to 3% dry of optimum, at optimum; 2 to 3% wet of optimum; and at full backpressure saturation.

Subgrade Resilient Modulus Correction for Saturation Effects
Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 1997Mechanistic design methods for flexible pavement require the specification of the resilient modulus Mr for each soil subgrade encountered in the pavement project.

Resilient Modulus for Fine‐Grained Subgrade Soils
Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, 1994A method has been developed for the estimation of resilient modulus of compacted fine-grained subgrade soils. The method takes into account the influence of soil physical state, stress state, and soil type. The effect of soil physical state is quantified by combinations of two equations relating resilient modulus to moisture content.

Effects of water content on resilient modulus of a granular material with high fines content
, 2020The granular materials with high fines content are commonly adopted as the fill materials in the substructures of pavement and railway. The high-fraction fines may exist at the construction stage or accumulate gradually during the service life of ...

Rapid estimation of resilient modulus of subgrade soils using performance-related soil properties
International Journal of Pavement Engineering, 2019This study aims at developing an efficient and accurate methodology to estimate the resilient modulus of subgrade soils. First, a new resilient modulus model incorporating stress dependence and moisture dependence was proposed.
