Self-supported aluminum thin films produced by vacuum deposition process [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Self-supported aluminum thin film is produced by vacuum depositing the film on a polyvinyl formal resin film and then removing the resin by radiant heating in the vacuum.

Evaluation of diffusive gradients in thin-films using a Diphonix® resin for monitoring dissolved uranium in natural waters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Commercially available Diphonix® resin (TrisKem International) was evaluated as a receiving phase for use with the diffusive gradients in thin-films (DGT) passive sampler for measuring uranium.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Utilization of brick waste as pozzolanic material in concrete mix

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Recycling of construction and demolition waste and recycling of industrial by-products into building materials has an enormous potential. Brick waste can be treated by reusing for construction.

Influence of Cola-Based Soft Drinks on the Microhardness of Nanohybrid and Bulk Fill Composites [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2019
Introduction: Bulk fill composites have been introduced in the past few years and appear to solve some of the disadvantages of conventional composites such as polymerisation contraction and the consequent marginal microinfiltration.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Anterior Space Maintainer Incorporating a Pontic Derived from a Strip Crown [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2018
Various designs of functional and aesthetic space maintainers have been used in the anterior region to replace missing upper primary anteriors. All of these had utilised pontics made of composite, acrylic or natural teeth.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

NUMERICAL MODELLING OF RESINS USED IN STEREOLITOGRAPHY RAPID PROTOTYPING [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Computer Science, 2019
The presented research deals with the development of the numerical model for resins used for stereolithography (SLA) rapid prototyping. SLA is an additive method of production of models, prototypes, elements or parts of constructions with the use of 3D ...

Naphthenic Acids Removal from Model Transformer Oil by Diethylamine Modified Resins

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Resins have enormous potential in the removal of naphthenic acids (NAs) from transformer oil due to their rich porosity and high mechanical and diversified functionality, whereas their poor adsorption capacity limits application.
