Comparative evaluation of pull-out bond strength of fiber post using different luting cements in endodontically treated teeth: An in-vitro study

open access: yesEndodontology, 2021
Aim: This study was aimed to evaluate and compare the pull-out bond strength of fiber post using glass ionomer cement (GIC), resin-modified glass ionomer cements (RMGIC), self-etch adhesive resin cement, and self-adhesive resin cement in endodontically ...

Viscous behavior of resin composite cements

open access: yesDental Materials Journal, 2021
The objective of this study was to analyze the viscous behavior during setting reaction of resin composite cements and how it is influenced by temperature. Viscous properties during auto-polymerization at 23°C of three adhesive (Panavia V5 [PV5]; RelyX Ultimate [RUL]; Multilink Automix [MLA]) and three self-adhesive (Panavia SA plus [PSA]; RelyX Unicem

Esterase like activity of Enterococcus faecalis and Lactobacillus casei on microhardness and weight loss of resin luting cements

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research, 2020
Introduction: Gap-free/continuous cement margins have been considered important for the longevity of indirect dental restorations. Bacterial species have demonstrated esterase-like activity that can cause biodegradation of resin composites.

Sealing Ability of Alkaline Endodontic Cements versus Resin Cements [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2017
Penetration of oral bacteria through root fillings leads to their long term failure. Dimensionally stable alkaline cements have been developed. A saliva challenge model was used to compare resistance to bacterial penetration of these alkaline cements to conventional root fillings that combine gutta percha (GP) with epoxy resin sealers.

Influence of viscosity and polymerization mode on bond strength of dual-cure resin luting agent to dentin

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Oral Sciences, 2015
Aim: To evaluate the influence of the viscosity and curing mode on the bond strength of two resin cements to dentin. Methods: Eight experimental groups were formed (n = 7) according to the dual-cure resin cements (Nexus 2 - Kerr Corp.

An alternative specimen preparation technique for 3-point bending tests on dual-cured dental resin cements

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2016
The proper mechanical properties of resin cements are essential to the longevity of indirect restoration, whereas the 3-point bending test is recommended for measuring the flexural strength.

Flax Composites With Improved Interfacial Strength Through Microbially Induced Mineral Precipitation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A bio‐inspired biomineralization strategy introduces an additional hierarchy to flax fiber composites. By controlling microbe‐mediated mineral particle deposition through tuned salt concentrations, stress transfer within the natural fiber composite is enhanced.

A Pentaradial and Bilateral Combined Photoreception System in the Sea Cucumber is Mediated by a Blue Light‐Sensitive R‐Opsin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The sea cucumber Holothuria leucospilota detects blue and adjacent wavelengths of light via an r‐opsin with a maximum absorption at 459 nm. In the oral tentacles, papillae, and tube feet, distinct light‐sensing structures with specialized morphologies are formed, constituting a unique pentaradial and bilateral combined photoreception system.
