Interaction and Joint Effects of Inflammation and Triglyceride–Glucose (TyG) Index on Hyperuricemia Risk and the Mediating Role of TyG: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 3, May 2026.
Among 5307 southern Chinese adults, higher TyG index and mINFLA score were associated with increased HUA risk and serum UA levels (p trend < 0.001). A significant interaction was observed between these two indicators. Notably, the TyG index mediated 15.4% of the mINFLA‐HUA association and 14.5% of the mINFLA‐UA association.

Inverse association of resistin with physical activity in the general population.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
AimResistin is a cytokine related with inflammation and ischemic heart disease. Physical activity (PA) prevents chronic inflammation and ischemic heart disease.

Perivascular adipose tissue inflammation in vascular disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease. In vascular pathologies, perivascular adipose tissue increases in volume and becomes dysfunctional, with altered cellular composition and molecular ...

Club Cells in Nasal Epithelial Repair: Insights From an IL‐13‐Induced Inflammatory Model

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 5, Page 1459-1471, May 2026.
Four inflammatory endotypes of CRSwNP, defined by eosinophil and neutrophil infiltration, show distinct patterns of basal, club, ciliated, and goblet cell expression in nasal epithelium. Using an ALI‐HNECs model, we demonstrate that IL‐13 impairs mucociliary function by promoting club‐to‐goblet cell differentiation while inhibiting club‐to‐ciliated ...

Interplay of adiponectin and resistin in type 2 diabetes: Implications for insulin resistance and atherosclerosis [PDF]

open access: yesPharmacia
Aim: The study aims to investigate the association between type 2 diabetes and adipokines, particularly resistin and adiponectin, in insulin resistance.

Role of resistin as a marker of inflammation in systemic lupus erythematosus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
INTRODUCTION: Resistin is a cystein-rich secretory adipokine. It is proposed to have proinflammatory properties in humans. The aim of this study was to determine associations between serum levels of resistin and markers of inflammation and bone mineral ...

A role for eosinophils in the intestinal immunity against infective Ascaris suum larvae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The aim of this study was to explore the mechanisms of resistance against invading Ascaris suum larvae in pigs. Pigs received a low dose of 100 A. suum eggs daily for 14 weeks.

Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty in patients with peripheral arterial disease does not affect circulating monocyte subpopulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Monocytes are mononuclear cells characterized by distinct morphology and expression of CD14 and CD16 surface receptors. Classical, quiescent monocytes are positive for CD14 (lipopolysaccharide receptor) but do not express Fc gamma receptor III (CD16 ...

Resistin in dairy cows: plasma concentrations during early lactation, expression and potential role in adipose tissue.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Resistin is an adipokine that has been implicated in energy metabolism regulation in rodents but has been little studied in dairy cows. We determined plasma resistin concentrations in early lactation in dairy cows and investigated the levels of resistin ...

Association of Admission Serum Resistin Level with Acute ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction in Iraqi Patients

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2017
Human resistin is an adipokine, with a possible link to coronary heart disease.A few studies were done about resistin in acute phase of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) especially in Iraqi patients.
