Extraneous Factors Affecting Resistive Index

Investigative Radiology, 1988
Recently, numerous studies have referred to the resistive index as an accurate indicator of acute renal transplant rejection. We encountered several factors other than rejection that resulted in an elevation of the resistive index in both clinical and experimental situations. Any compressive effect on the kidney will elevate the resistive index.

Renal resistive index as a predictive factor of delayed graft function: A meta-analysis.

Transplantation reviews, 2019
BACKGROUND Delayed graft function represents a major complication of kidney transplantation, leading to high rates of short and long-term morbidity. The aim of the present meta-analysis is to assess the role of renal resistive index measurement in the ...

Strong correlation between doppler snuffbox resistive index and systemic vascular resistance in septic patients

Journal of critical care, 2019
Purpose: To compare systemic vascular resistance index (SVRI) as measured by invasive transpulmonary indicator dilution (TPID) and non‐invasive Doppler‐derived resistive index in septic patients.

An Index of Peripheral Vascular Resistance

Journal of Hypertension, 1985
An index of peripheral vascular resistance, derived from directly measured arterial pressure, has been developed and tested in an animal model. Assuming a mono-exponential character for diastole, the time constant for direct arterial pressure decay in the central aorta was obtained with high-fidelity recording techniques from six anaesthetized dogs ...

Intrarenal Resistive Index after Renal Transplantation

New England Journal of Medicine, 2014
Naesens et al. (Nov. 7 issue)1 published their findings of a well-conducted study looking at the relationship between intrarenal resistive indexes in renal allografts and allograft dysfunction. With regard to the protocol-specified measurements, higher resistive indexes were not associated with allograft dysfunction but were associated with older ...

Renal Arterial Resistance Index

2015
The kidney is a profusely vascularized organ which, unlike other organs, does not regulate renal blood flow (RBF) mainly by oxygen demand. Reflex (myogenic effect and tubular-glomerular feedback) and neurohormonal mechanisms modulate RBF and renal resistances by regulating the tone of afferent and efferent arterioles as well as that of the major ...

Peak Systolic Velocity, Resistance Index and Pulsatility Index

Acta Radiologica, 1997
Purpose: To study variation in the process of measuring Doppler ultrasound (US) wave forms. Material and Methods: Eleven radiologists measured peak systolic velocity (PSV), resistance index (RI), and pulsatility index (PI) from a pre-recorded videotape.

Multiple Antibiotic Resistance Indexing of Coliforms

2021 International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technologies (IBCAST), 2021
In Pakistan the bacteriological contamination of drinking water has been reported to be one of the most serious issue, it can lead to water borne diseases. The objective of this study is to check the quality of drinking water, occurrence of pathogenic organism and analysis of different distribution points as well as related filter plant which supplying

Relationship between the Resistive Index and Vascular Compliance and Resistance

Radiology, 1999
To evaluate the dependence of the resistive index (RI) on not only vascular resistance but also vascular compliance. An in vitro model that made use of a pulsatile pump, blood-mimicking fluid, and variable compliance and resistance was used to investigate the relationship between the RI and both vascular compliance and resistance. In the absence of ...
