Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Humidity dependent impedance of Zn(_x)Co(_2-x)GeO(_4) [PDF]
Zn(_x)Co(_2-x)GeO(_4) materials were prepared and the variation in structure with composition was investigated using XED, SEM and EDX analysis. Limited series of solid solution were identified at both ends of the compositional range.

Densification treatment and properties of carbon fiber reinforced contact strip
The high temperature caused by current-carrying wear could affect the thermal reliability of resin-based contact strip greatly. This study adopted liquid-phase impregnation-carbonization (IC) technique to improve the thermal stability and densification ...

Gold nanoresistors with near-constant resistivity in the cryogenic-to-room temperature range
Using a multiple plasma deposition-annealing (MDA) technique, we have fabricated an Au nanoisland-based thin film nanoresistor with a very low temperature coefficient of electrical resistivity in a cryogenic-to-room temperature range of 10 to 300 K.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Low Resistivity Transparent Conducting Oxide Thin Films Prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition
P(論文)In a bid obtain resistivity of on the order of 10^ Ω・cm, we fabricated a series of transparent conducting films from indium tin oxide (ITO) and aluminum-doped zinc oxide (AZO) by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) using an ArF excimer laser (λ=193 nm ...
