On Majorization Uncertainty Relations in the Presence of a Minimal Length
The emergence of a minimal length at the Planck scale is consistent with modern developments in quantum gravity. This is taken into account by transforming the Heisenberg uncertainty principle into the generalized uncertainty principle.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Plasmonic Superlens Imaging Enhanced by Incoherent Active Convolved Illumination
We introduce a loss compensation method to increase the resolution of near-field imaging with a plasmonic superlens that relies on the convolution of a high spatial frequency passband function with the object. Implementation with incoherent light removes

Open Principle for Large High-Resolution Solar Telescopes [PDF]
Vacuum solar telescopes solve the problem of image deterioration inside the telescope due to refractive index fluctuations of the air heated by the solar light. However, such telescopes have a practical diameter limit somewhat over 1 m. The Dutch Open Telescope (DOT) was the pioneering demonstrator of the open-telescope technology without need of ...

This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Resolution proofs of generalized pigeonhole principles
The generalized pigeonhole principle is that for positive integers \(m>n\), if m pigeons sit in n holes, then some hole contains more than one pigeon. The ordinary pigeonhole principle has \(m=n+1\). For a fixed m and n the authors exhibit a set \(S_{m,n}\) of propositional clauses which encodes the generalized pigeonhole principle.

Real‐time assay of ribonucleotide reductase activity with a fluorescent RNA aptamer
Ribonucleotide reductases (RNR) synthesize DNA building blocks de novo, making them crucial in DNA replication and drug targeting. FLARE introduces the first single‐tube real‐time coupled RNR assay, which enables isothermal tracking of RNR activity at nanomolar enzyme levels and allows the reconstruction of allosteric regulatory patterns and rapid ...

Pauli's Principle in Probe Microscopy [PDF]
Exceptionally clear images of intramolecular structure can be attained in dynamic force microscopy through the combination of a passivated tip apex and operation in what has become known as the "Pauli exclusion regime" of the tip-sample interaction.

Digital-to-Time Converter with 3.93 ps Resolution Implemented on FPGA Chips
In this paper, a digital-to-time converter (DTC) based on the principle of quantified phase shift resolution (QPSR) is proposed and tested. The QPSR principle is realized by analyzing the phase relationship between two periodic signals, which ...
