Overcoming the acoustic diffraction limit in photoacoustic imaging by localization of flowing absorbers

open access: yes, 2017
The resolution of photoacoustic imaging deep inside scattering media is limited by the acoustic diffraction limit. In this work, taking inspiration from super-resolution imaging techniques developed to beat the optical diffraction limit, we demonstrate ...

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Fluorescence monitoring of capilarry electrophoresis separation in a lab-on-a-chip with monolithically integrated waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Femtosecond-laser-written optical waveguides were monolithically integrated into a commercial lab-on-a-chip to intersect a microfluidic channel. Laser excitation through these waveguides confines the excitation window to a width of 12 μm, enabling high ...

A High Resolution Vernier Digital-to-Time Converter Implemented with 65 nm FPGA

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, a digital-to-time converter (DTC) based on the three delay lines (3D) Vernier principle is proposed and implemented with field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).

α-Quasi-Lock Semantic Resolution Method Based on Lattice-Valued Logic [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2014
Based on the general form of α-resolution principle for a lattice-valued logic with truth-values defined in a lattice-valued logical algebra structure - lattice implication algebra, the further extended α-resolution method in this lattice ...

Resolution and the binary encoding of combinatorial principles

open access: yes, 2018
We investigate the size complexity of proofs in $Res(s)$ -- an extension of Resolution working on $s$-DNFs instead of clauses -- for families of contradictions given in the {\em unusual binary} encoding. A motivation of our work is size lower bounds of refutations in Resolution for families of contradictions in the usual unary encoding.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Resolution Enhancement for Low-resolution Text Images Using Generative Adversarial Network

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In recent years, although Optical Character Recognition (OCR) has made considerable progress, low-resolution text images commonly appearing in many scenarios may still cause errors in recognition. For this problem, the technique of Generative Adversarial

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
