Visible and Near-Infrared Broadband Absorber Based on Ti3C2Tx MXene-Wu

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
A high absorption broadband absorber based on MXene and tungsten nanospheres in visible and near-infrared bands is proposed. The absorber has a maximum absorption of 100% and an average absorption of 95% in the wavelength range of 400–2500 nm.

The histone chaperones Vps75 and Nap1 form ring-like, tetrameric structures in solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
NAP-1 fold histone chaperones play an important role in escorting histones to and from sites of nucleosome assembly and disassembly. The two NAP-1 fold histone chaperones in budding yeast, Vps75 and Nap1, have previously been crystalized in a ...

Formation of unilamellar dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine vesicles promoted by Ca2+ ions: A small-angle neutron scattering study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) was hydrated in 0.2-60 mM solution of CaCl 2 in heavy water and thoroughly homogenized by freezing-thawing process.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

High-Sensitivity Angle Modulation Biosensor Based on Surface Plasmon Resonance of Metasurface

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
Metasurface is a popular artificial layered material. In this paper, a sensor based on surface plasmon resonance with a new type of symmetrical triangular structure is designed. This paper designs a metasurface structure, the highest sensitivity of 364 &#

Wide angle anapole excitation in stacked resonators

open access: yesOptics Express
In the search for resonances with high localized field strengths in all-dielectric nanophotonics, novel states such as anapoles, hybrid anapoles and bound states in the continuum have been realized. Of these, the anapoles are the most readily achievable.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Analysis of Tapered Nanopillars for Reflective Metalens: The Role of Higher-Order Modes

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
Despite the widespread interest in the metalens technology, few works show the errors during fabrication and analyze how they influence the focusing performance.

Fabrication and Characterization of Line-by-Line Inscribed Tilted Fiber Bragg Gratings Using Femtosecond Laser

open access: yesSensors, 2021
In this paper, we studied the basic characteristics of tilted fiber Bragg gratings (TFBGs), inscribed line-by-line. Experimental results showed that if the TFBGs were located within different planes parallel to the fiber axis, the spectra performed ...
