The Lupus Damage Index Revision Program: Results From the Item Generation and Reduction Phases

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective A data‐driven and expert/patient consensus‐based project to develop a revised Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC)/American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Damage Index (SDI) is under way supported by SLICC, ACR, and the Lupus Foundation of America. Our objective is to report the item generation and reduction phase results

Anomalous Rotational Resonance Spectra in Magic-Angle Spinning NMR

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance, 1999
Magic-angle spinning NMR spectra of samples containing dilute spin-1/2 pairs display broadenings or splittings when a rotational resonance condition is satisfied, meaning that a small integer multiple of the spinning frequency matches the difference in the two isotropic shift frequencies.

Clinical Validation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)‐based Cartilage Segmentation Predicting Knee Replacement

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective For cartilage morphology to serve as a scalable endpoint in clinical trials, analyses should be performed automatically without human interaction. To clinically validate artificial intelligence (AI)‐based analysis, we studied cartilage loss from MRI prior to knee replacement.

Magic Angle Spinning Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of the Chlorosomes

open access: yes, 2007
Summary Chlorosomes, the oblong light-harvesting bodies of green photosynthetic bacteria, are attached to the inner side of the cytoplasmic membrane. Magic Angle Spinning Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (MAS NMR) was used to study isotopically labeled chlorosomes and in vitro model compounds.

Role of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Evaluation of Cerebellopontine Angle Schwannomas [PDF]

open access: yesIndian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery, 2014
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the role of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to localize and characterize the MR imaging features of cerebellopontine angle schwannomas and to compare with surgical/histopathological findings. It was a prospective study which included 19 patients, who presented with signs and symptoms s/o any lesion in the ...

Surface plasmon-coupled emission for applications in biomedical diagnostics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Surface plasmon-coupled emission (SPCE) is a phenomenon whereby the light emitted from a fluorescent molecule can couple into the surface plasmon of an adjacent metal layer resulting in highly directional emission in the region of the surface plasmon ...
