Influence of the winding design of wind turbine transformers for resonant overvoltage vulnerability
IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 2015Switching transients and earth faults may lead to resonant overvoltages at wind turbine transformer terminals as well as inside High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) windings. The winding design in a transformer could strongly influence the internal voltage distribution as function of frequency, and this has a great impact on risk of insulation ...

Study of Transformer Resonant Overvoltages Caused by Cable-Transformer High-Frequency Interaction
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2010Power transformers can fail from dielectric stresses caused by electromagnetic transients. In this paper we focus on a special phenomenon where excessive overvoltages arise due to resonance. This situation can take place when a transformer on the high-voltage side is connected to a cable and the low-voltage side is unloaded.

The Ballast for HID Lamps of Preventing the Overvoltage with a Long Distance Resonant Ignition
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, 2015The electronic ballast for HID lamps needs to ignite lamps even though the length from the ballast to lamp is far away. Therefore, it needs to do the research on a resonant ignition to turn on the HID lamps because the reduction of ignition voltage is not much depending on the distance.

Temporary Overvoltages due to Harmonic Resonance in Long EHV Cables
2007With the increasing recourse to cables in EHV networks the likelihood of low-order harmonic resonance is becoming of even more concern. The scope of this paper is to analyze the overvoltages due to harmonic resonance at the no-load energization of a prospective 400kV-50Hz double circuit submarine cable line. ATP-EMTP analyses are carried out to predict
