Validation of the Pediatric Arthritis Ultrasound Scoring System for the Elbow, Wrist, and Finger Joints in Children With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to validate the Pediatric Arthritis Ultrasound Scoring System (PAUSS) for upper extremity joints in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Methods Children with JIA were evaluated for elbow, wrist, or finger arthritis by clinical examination (CE) and musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) with images scored according to the ...

Acceleration sensor-based first resonance vibration suppression of a double-clamped piezoelectric beam

open access: yes, 2016
This paper investigates resonance vibration suppression under persistent excitation near the first structural resonant frequency of a clamped-clamped (doubly-clamped) piezoelectric flexible beam.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Fermionic statistics suppresses Fano resonances

open access: yes, 2014
Fano resonances and bound states with energy in the continuum are ubiquitous phenomena in different areas of physics. Observations, however, have been limited so far to single-particle processes. In this work we experimentally investigate the multi-particle case and observe Fano interference in a non-interacting two-particle Fano-Anderson model by ...

Spin Coupling Resonance and Suppression in the AGS [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2003
Spin depolarizing resonances due to coupling may account for as much as a 30 percent loss in polarization in the AGS. The major source of coupling in the AGS is the solenoidal snake. In the past some preliminary work was done to understand this phenomena [1], and a method to overcome these resonances was attempted [2].

Analysis and suppression of common-mode resonance in chopper circuit of high-frequency auxiliary converter

open access: yes机车电传动
This paper analyzes common-mode resonance in high-frequency auxiliary converters and explores a suppression approach by introducing an efficient common-mode equivalent modeling method.

Impurity scattering in Weyl semimetals and their stability classification

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
Weyl semimetals (WS) are a new class of Dirac-type materials exhibiting a phase with bulk energy nodes and an associated vanishing density of states (DOS). We investigate the stability of this nodal DOS suppression in the presence of local impurities and

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Application of Quasi Proportional Resonance Control Algorithm in Three-phase Inverter Power

open access: yes机车电传动, 2020
Nonlinear loads introduce harmonics into the three-phase inverter power system, which damages the electrical equipment. In order to reduce the harmonic content of the inverter output voltage, a harmonic suppression method based on the quasi-proportional ...
