Atomic-scale Authentication with Resonant Tunneling Diodes [PDF]

open access: yesMRS Advances, 2016
The room temperature electronic characteristics of resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs) containing AlAs/InGaAs quantum wells are studied. Differences in the peak current and voltages, associated with device-to-device variations in the structure and width of the quantum well are analyzed.

Resonant tunneling diode oscillators for optical communications [PDF]

open access: yesThird International Conference on Applications of Optics and Photonics, 2017
The ability to use resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs) as both transmitters and receivers is an emerging topic, especially with regards to wireless communications. Successful data transmission has been achieved using electronic RTDs with carrier frequencies exceeding 0.3 THz. Specific optical-based RTDs, which act as photodetectors, have been developed by

Theoretical Model of Resonant Tunneling Diode Photodetector

open access: yesPhotonics
RTD photodetectors have been widely applied in fields such as gas detection, weak signal detection, and single-photon detection. However, during further device design and optimization, it has been found that existing theoretical models cannot fully ...

Chirped solitons in discrete electrical transmission line

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
I¸n this paper, we investigate the solitary waves to the discrete nonlinear electrical transmission lines with resonant tunneling diode (RTD). We derive the envelope Ginzburg Landau (GL) equation to the lattice by employing reductive perturbation method ...

Rethinking Charge Transport and Recombination in Donor‐Diluted Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organic solar cells with 1–45% PM6 content in Y12 were studied to link structure and charge dynamics to performance. The conductivity follows a 3D percolation model without a sharp threshold. Donor dilution preserves the photogeneration yield, but limits the fill factor due to transport resistance losses.

Phase Engineering of Nanomaterials (PEN): Evolution, Current Challenges, and Future Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the synthesis, phase transition, advanced characterization spanning ex situ to in situ and operando techniques, and diverse applications of phase engineering of nanomaterials (PEN). It further outlines key challenges and future opportunities, such as phase stability, architecture control, and artificial intelligence (AI)‐driven ...

Electron-photon interaction in resonant tunneling diodes [PDF]

open access: yesEurophysics Letters (EPL), 1997
We develope a model to describe the transmission coefficient and tunneling current in the presence of photon-electron coupling in a resonant diode. Our model takes into account multiphoton processes as well as the transitions between electronic states with different wave numbers.

Origin of Dark Current Robustness in Photomultiplication Organic Photodetectors Enabled by Ionic Conjugated Electron‐Blocking Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic conjugated polyelectrolyte electron‐blocking layers enable photomultiplication organic photodetectors with dark current robustness up to −10 V and external quantum efficiencies exceeding 3000%. Fowler–Nordheim tunneling, interfacial dipole, trap density of states, and noise analyses reveal how ionic conjugated polyelectrolytes suppress electron ...

A Universal van der Waals Tunneling Injector for Monolayer CMOS

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A universal van der Waals injector unlocks polarity‐flexible tunneling contacts for monolayer CMOS. SnSe2, an intrinsically degenerate 2D semiconductor, establishes polarity‐specific band alignments with both WSe2 and MoS2 channels, enabling steep switching, high on/off ratios, and a unified route to low‐power 2D logic.
