Edge localized modes control by resonant magnetic perturbations

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2007
A number of designs for external or in-vessel coils generating Resonant Magnetic Perturbations (RMPs) for type I ELMs control in ITER are analyzed. The RMPs generated by the I-coils in the successful DIII-D ELMs control experiments are taken as a reference. The three ITER characteristic scenarios (H-mode, hybrid and steady-state) are studied.

Influence of resonance magnetic perturbation on the asymmetric magnetic perturbation induced double tearing modes

Radiation Effects and Defects in Solids, 2021
In this paper, we have studied the influence of resonance magnetic perturbation (RMP) on the double tearing modes induced by asymmetric magnetic perturbation in a 2D geometry based on the MHD model...

Automatic detection of perturbed magnetic resonance signal

SPIE Proceedings, 2017
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is widely used in medicine nowadays, yet a significant disadvantage is the amount of artifacts that affect the image during the acquisition process. This paper presents a strategy for automatic damage detection when the image is altered by movement or there is a loss of information due to magnetic susceptibility.

Extended MHD simulation of resonant magnetic perturbations

Nuclear Fusion, 2009
Resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs) have been found effective in suppressing edge localized modes (ELMs) in the DIII-D experiment (Evans et al 2006 Phys. Plasmas 13 056121, Moyer et al 2005 Phys. Plasmas 12 056119). Simulations with the M3D initial value code indicate that plasma rotation, due to an MHD toroidal

Magnetic Island Formation in Coexisting System of Resonant Magnetic Perturbation and Perturbed Bootstrap Current

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 2019
A reduced two-fluid model describing the coexisting system of the resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs) and plasma flows is extended to include an effect of the perturbed bootstrap current.

Interaction between resonant magnetic perturbation and the rotating magnetic island

Physics of Plasmas, 1994
Nonlinear interaction between an external static resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) and the corresponding rotating saturated magnetic island in tokamak plasma has been numerically simulated. The influence of flow shear driven by this nonlinear interaction is considered.
