Magnetic field topology modeling under resonant magnetic perturbations on EAST
Plasma Science and Technology, 2019In order to understand the mechanism by which the resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) mitigates or suppresses the edge-localized mode (ELM), the topological study of the edge magnetic field in ELM mitigation or suppression phase is a critical issue.

Resonant magnetic perturbation effect on tearing mode dynamics
Nuclear Fusion, 2010The effect of a resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) on the tearing mode (TM) dynamics is experimentally studied in the EXTRAP T2R device. EXTRAP T2R is equipped with a set of sensor coils and active coils connected by a digital controller allowing a feedback control of the magnetic instabilities.

Shielding of resonant magnetic perturbations by rotation
Physics of Plasmas, 1996Magnetic perturbations that drive islands are shielded from a rotating plasma by either a torque limit or an equilibrium limit. The physics of the shielding is given in a simple slab model along with the mechanism by which the shielding currents are maintained.

Nuclear magnetic resonance microscopy of single neurons under hypotonic perturbation
American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology, 1996Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) characteristics of water in perfused single neurons undergoing a 20% hypotonic perturbation were examined quantitatively using NMR microscopy. The transverse relaxation times (T2) in the cytoplasm and nucleus increased by 24.0 +/- 8.5% (average +/- SE, n = 8) and 29.7 +/- 5.3% (n = 6), respectively, whereas the ...

ELM suppression by resonant magnetic perturbations at DIII-D
2009 23rd IEEE/NPSS Symposium on Fusion Engineering, 2009Edge localized mode (ELM) suppression by resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs) is being studied at DIII-D with ITER-similar plasma shapes and edge collisionalities. Suppression at low collisionality correlates with overlap of vacuum magnetic field islands in a quantified edge layer at moderate q.

Longitudinal perturbations of plasma nuclear magnetic resonance profiles in neonatal encephalopathy
Pediatric Research, 2023Neonatal encephalopathy (NE) is a major cause of mortality and severe neurological disability in the neonatal period and beyond. We hypothesized that the degree of brain injury is reflected in the molecular composition of peripheral blood samples.A sub-cohort of 28 newborns included in the HYPOTOP trial was studied.

Penetration of resonant magnetic perturbations in turbulent edge plasmas
Nuclear Fusion, 2014Comprehension of the interactions between tokamak edge plasmas and externally induced resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs) is an important step in the understanding of the control of edge-localized modes by these RMPs. Such control has been demonstrated experimentally, but previous theoretical investigations have revealed a possible screening of RMPs

Screening of resonant magnetic perturbations by flows in tokamaks
Nuclear Fusion, 2012Abstract The non-linear reduced four-field RMHD model in cylindrical geometry was extended to include plasma rotation, neoclassical poloidal viscosity and two fluid diamagnetic effects. Interaction of the static resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs) with the rotating plasmas in tokamaks was studied.

Nuclear magnetic double resonance: Perturbation of double quantum transitions
Journal of Magnetic Resonance (1969), 1971Abstract NMR double resonance spectra, where the second rf field is centered on a double quantum transition, are discussed. The theoretical treatment is performed by a transformation to the rotating frame, and the close connection to the treatment of double quantum spectra is brought out.

Influence of resonant magnetic perturbations on plasma edge turbulence
Physics of Plasmas, 1997This work reports alterations on plasma-edge equilibrium profiles and on edge turbulence, and anomalous transport induced by resonant perturbing magnetic fields in the TBR (Brazilian Tokamak) tokamak [J. Fusion Energy 12, 295 (1993)]. Thus, these perturbations have reduced the equilibrium parameters and the spectral power of the fluctuations and ...
