High-frequency series-resonant DC link power conversion

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1992
An AC/DC conversion scheme is presented which eliminates the need for self-commutated devices and requires only 12 thyristors for full double bridge AC to AC power conversion. The system utilizes a series resonant DC link between the AC/DC and DC/AC converters.

Zero-Ripple-Resonant Converters - A New Class in Resonant Power Conversion

Industrial Electronics Society (IECON ), Annual Conference of IEEE, 2006
The main advantage of the resonant power conversion technique is its ability to eliminate turn on or turn off loss on semiconductor power devices, so that the converter can operate efficiently at multi-MHz switching frequency and yield higher power density compared to the Pulse-Width-Modulated (PWM) technique.

Reliability considerations in pulsed power resonant conversion

Microelectronics Reliability, 2009
Abstract This work is about the analysis of reliability issues in pulsed power resonant converters, which feature fairly unique operational characteristics, differentiating them substantially from more common power electronics applications (e.g., inverters, dc–dc converters).

Resonant switching power conversion technique

1975 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1975
A method for resonant switching applicable to dc to dc power conversion is presented. Zero current switching together with resonant control of current waveforms avoids solid state power device second breakdown stresses encountered with high voltage switching in conventional circuitry.

Resonant switching power conversion

1976 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1976
A description is given of the operating cycle of the resonant switching dc-to-dc power converter. A method is outlined for precise voltage regulation against line and load changes. Sufficient analysis is presented to form the basis for preliminary design to meet any set of input and output requirements.

High-Q resonator with integrated capacitance for resonant power conversion

2017 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2017
Resonant power conversion at MHz frequencies is useful for miniaturization of power electronics, but requires resonators or inductors with high efficiency. Because litz wire is not effective above several MHz, an alternative winding structure for inductors is required for operation at these frequencies. In this paper, we present resonators with a multi-

Electrical Schemes of Resonant Conversion of Reactive Power to Active

Bulletin of Kharkov National Automobile and Highway University, 2022
Problem. Today, it is extremely important to solve the problems of efficient conversion of various types of energy (solar, wind, thermal, etc.) into electricity, which is a non-alternative factor in the comfort of the existence and development of all mankind.

Resistance Compression Networks for Resonant Power Conversion

IEEE 36th Conference on Power Electronics Specialists, 2005., 2006
A limitation of many high-frequency resonant inverter topologies is their high sensitivity to loading conditions. This paper introduces a new class of matching networks that greatly reduces the load sensitivity of resonant inverters and RF amplifiers.

Device optimization and modeling for resonant power conversion

ISIE'2000. Proceedings of the 2000 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (Cat. No.00TH8543), 2002
Resonant conversion offers dramatic reduction in switching stress, enabling an increase in switching frequency until the device once again becomes the limiting factor. However, estimates on the performance of the device in resonant converters do not adequately account for device-circuit interactions that strongly influence the switching losses ...
