Resistance Compression Networks for Resonant Power Conversion

IEEE 36th Conference on Power Electronics Specialists, 2005., 2006
A limitation of many high-frequency resonant inverter topologies is their high sensitivity to loading conditions. This paper introduces a new class of matching networks that greatly reduces the load sensitivity of resonant inverters and RF amplifiers.

Resonant switching power conversion

1976 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1976
A description is given of the operating cycle of the resonant switching dc-to-dc power converter. A method is outlined for precise voltage regulation against line and load changes. Sufficient analysis is presented to form the basis for preliminary design to meet any set of input and output requirements.

Electrical Schemes of Resonant Conversion of Reactive Power to Active

Bulletin of Kharkov National Automobile and Highway University, 2022
Problem. Today, it is extremely important to solve the problems of efficient conversion of various types of energy (solar, wind, thermal, etc.) into electricity, which is a non-alternative factor in the comfort of the existence and development of all mankind.

Lithium niobate resonators for piezoelectric power conversion

2023
Piezoelectric power converters, where acoustic resonators replace the inductors as energy storage elements, promise much higher power density and efficiency than conventional circuits. Recently, lithium niobate piezoelectric resonators have been integrated within power converter circuits, showing good conversion efficiency, thanks to their high quality

Device optimization and modeling for resonant power conversion

ISIE'2000. Proceedings of the 2000 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (Cat. No.00TH8543), 2002
Resonant conversion offers dramatic reduction in switching stress, enabling an increase in switching frequency until the device once again becomes the limiting factor. However, estimates on the performance of the device in resonant converters do not adequately account for device-circuit interactions that strongly influence the switching losses ...

Magnetizing approach for permanent magnets with resonant power conversion

2015 IEEE International Telecommunications Energy Conference (INTELEC), 2015
Resonant power conversion is an effective technology for various applications. This paper presents a resonant magnetizing approach, aimed at improving the low power density and cost issues of traditional capacitor-discharged impulse magnetizer. In the method, a resonant tank is established by a series capacitor and inductor.

Secondary-side resonance for high-frequency power conversion

1986 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 1986
A systematic approach is proposed that enables the use of the leakage inductance of the power transformer and a secondaryside capacitor to form a resonant tank for very high frequency power conversion. Several new quasi-resonant converter topologies based on this technique are derived.

Principles of quasi- and multi-resonant power conversion techniques

1991 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 1991
Recently developed quasi-resonant and multi-resonant DC-DC power conversion techniques are reviewed. Quasi-resonant converter (QRC) and multi-resonant converter (MRC) topologies are derived from the conventional square-wave, pulse-width modulated (PWM) converters by adding resonant components to achieve zero-current switching (ZCS) or zero-voltage ...

Series resonant AC-power interface with an optimal power factor and enhanced conversion ratio

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1986
A new method of power pulse modulation with internal frequencies of tens of kHz which is also suitable for multikilowatt power levels is applied to a series-resonant converter system for generating synthesized multiphase bipolar waveforms with reversible power flow.
